who are you

I am America.
English. Cherokee.
Irish. And Polynesian.

Look at my hands
Travel the deep scars
As far back as they will take you.

Listen to my heart
That beats half-dead
Inside my body.

Look at my eyes. Deep into the Darkness
Of my soul. And you will know

Who I am.

I love to look at hands, they really do tell a story. Very poignant, and beautifully human, this piece.

Happy new beginning to you and your family. I wish you peace love and all manner of good fortune.
